After his family’s extended evacuation from New Orleans to Perryville, AR for Hurricane Katrina in 2005, his family determined that Perryville was “THE” place for retirement, and Eddie Jackson and his wife of almost 50 years retired to Perryville in 2016. He was appointed to the Central Arkansas Intermodal Authority in 2016, as one of the representatives from Perry County by then County Judge Baylor House.
Mr. Jackson spent the last 38 years of his 46 year engineer career working for Lanier & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc. of New Orleans, LA. Lanier & Associates are marine terminal specialists, who designed liquid, bulk material, and general cargo marine terminals worldwide with emphasis on U.S. inland waterways and East and Gulf Coast facilities. Many of the inland facilities were located on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. Through his work experience, he has extensive knowledge of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Section 10 and Section 404 permitting processes as well as the U.S. Coast Guard.regulations and requirements for marine facilities.
